2026 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid in Paso Robles, CA

Performance

The 2026 Kia Sportage Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) pairs a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a permanent-magnet electric motor and a 13.8 kWh battery pack to produce a combined 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard Active All-Wheel Drive equipped with Terrain Mode for enhanced stability on snow, mud, or sand. The plug-in hybrid system delivers an EPA-estimated all-electric range of up to 34 miles on a full charge—ideal for gas-free daily commutes—before seamlessly switching to standard hybrid mode for a total driving range of up to 470 miles. Using a 240V Level 2 charger, the battery can be fully replenished in approximately two hours.

Exterior

Offered in distinct X-Line and X-Line Prestige trims, the Sportage PHEV features rugged, adventure-ready exterior styling. Signature elements include Kia’s wide front grille, distinctive LED daytime running lights, and gloss-black body accents along the mirrors, side sills, and raised roof rails. It rides standard on aggressive 19-inch gloss-black alloy wheels that complement its athletic stance. Available exterior amenities include a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade, power-folding heated side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, and a Smart Power Liftgate.

Interior

The Sportage PHEV interior combines class-leading rear legroom with eco-conscious styling and premium utility. Five passengers ride comfortably surrounded by standard SynTex synthetic leather upholstery and high-end cabin trim. Practicality is highlighted by up to 65.4 cubic feet of maximum cargo capacity with the 60/40 split-folding rear seats laid flat. Comfort upgrades include a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Technology

Every 2026 Sportage PHEV comes standard with dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays that combine the digital driver cluster and central navigation touchscreen into a single curved housing. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are standard across the board, backed by front and rear USB-C ports. Higher trim levels add a wireless device charging pad, Kia Digital Key 2.0, a 10-inch Head-Up Display, Kia Connect telematics, and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.

Safety Features

Standard active safety on the Sportage PHEV is anchored by the Kia Drive Wise assistance package. Standard features include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian, Cyclist, and Junction Turning Detection, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Safe Exit Warning. Upper-tier configurations introduce advanced driver-assistance technologies like Highway Driving Assist 2 with lane-change assistance, a 360-degree Surround View Monitor, a Blind-Spot View Monitor, and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
